What VOID Tape Does and Why It Matters

Tamper-evident tape does one job: it makes interference visible and permanent.

Once applied, the tape cannot be removed cleanly. Removal transfers a VOID pattern to the substrate — the surface the tape was applied to — and to the tape backing itself. There is no way to reapply the tape or conceal that it was disturbed. Anyone handling the sealed item afterwards can see at a glance whether the seal is intact.

This matters because cargo theft, product substitution, and internal pilferage rarely leave obvious damage. A package that looks intact but has been opened and resealed is indistinguishable from a genuine sealed package without a tamper-evident seal. VOID tape removes that ambiguity.

Sequential Numbering and Chain-of-Custody

Sequential numbering converts each roll of tamper tape into an audit trail. Every seal carries a unique identifier that is recorded at point of application, matched to the consignment or asset, and verified at point of receipt.

This supports:

• Asset seal registers for equipment management
• Evidence of tamper attempts at specific points in a supply chain

QR codes and barcodes serve the same function when integrated with a scan-and-record system. We print these as variable data — each label or tape section carries a unique scannable identifier.
