What the Laminate Adds
Printed tape without a laminate is adequate for clean, dry, indoor environments. Take it outdoors or into a plant room and the picture changes.
UV exposure fades colour and degrades vinyl over months. Condensation on cold pipework causes edge lift and print bleed. Cleaning agents — pressure wash, chemical wipe-down, degreaser — attack exposed ink. Physical abrasion from nearby pipe runs, cable ties, and insulation work scuffs the surface.
The clear polypropylene laminate seals the printed surface from all of these. It adds no significant bulk and remains clear in service, so colour coding and text stay legible. For outdoor and industrial environments, laminated tape is the correct specification.
What Perforation Does
A roll of standard tape requires cutting to length. On a scaffolding tube 10 metres up, or on a pipeline in a confined utility trench, cutting tools are a complication. Perforated tape eliminates this.
Perforations are cut across the tape width at equal intervals during manufacture. The tape tears cleanly at each perforation to produce a finished label of consistent size. No cutting, no ragged edges, no inconsistent lengths.
Custom perforation spacing is available. The standard spacing suits typical pipe diameter band widths; for scaffolding tags or tool marking where a larger label is needed, specify a wider interval at quote stage.

Compatibility with Brother P-Touch and TZe Systems
The laminated tape format is compatible with Brother P-Touch and TZe label printing systems. Where existing on-site label printers use this format, our tape is a manufactured alternative for higher-volume or custom-printed requirements where print-on-demand is not the right workflow.
